Sinopsis del guión / Script Summary

Es la historia de un pequeño joven campesino que quiere sacar a su familia de la pobreza. Una plaga de insectos que destruye la cosecha de la finca donde vive, y el encuentro con el Espejo Mágico de la Media Naranja, son los sucesos que lo llevan a la aventura. El Espejo le revela quién es la mujer de sus sueños y lo convoca a ir a la ciudad junto a sus hermanos Pablo y Pedro.

Ya en el camino, Meñique y sus hermanos se enteran de que un enorme roble encantado tiene al palacio del rey en las tinieblas y sin agua; y que el soberano a prometido otorgar el título de marqués y dar a su hija, la princesa Denise, en matrimonio, a quien logre cortar el árbol y abrir un pozo. Y Meñique se sorprende al comprobar que la princesa es la "media naranja" que le mostró el espejo mágico.

Pero él no sabe que el árbol gigante que cubre al palacio ha sido creado por la bruja Barusa. Ella quiere vengarse del rey robándole el tesoro que esconde en una inmensa caja fuerte, y casando a su hijo el Edecán con la princesa. Y el pequeño se convertirá en un obstáculo para sus malvados propósitos.

Antes de llegar a su destino, nuestro héroe se enfrentará a un bosque encantado, y en él tendrá que ganarse a tres objetos mágicos: el hacha Hachibaldo, el pico Picoretto, y la fuente de agua, con forma de nuez, nombrada Señora Arroyo. Y será el espejo mágico quien le enseñará a usar su inteligencia para vencer todos los obstáculos.

Alrededor de la ciudad, una enorme favela es el hogar de los pobres. Y una misteriosa ladrona roba en el palacio para darles dinero. Ella también robará el corazón de Meñique y pondrá en duda la predicción del Espejo de la Media Naranja.

Finalmente el pequeño campesino triunfará en el empeño de cortar el árbol, abrir el pozo, vencer a un gigante, derrotar a la bruja y conquistar a su amada. Todo gracias a la ayuda de sus amigos mágicos y porque finalmente aprende que “el saber puede más que la fuerza”.



It is the history of a a very short young peasant called Meñique, who wants to free his family from poverty. A plague of insects that destroys the harvest at the farm and the encounter with The Mirror of the Better Half¨, a rare magical object shaped as a vanity case, are the events that begin the adventure. The Mirror reveals to Meñique who is his dreams woman and urges him to follow his brothers Pablo and Pedro to the city.

On their way to the city they learned that an enormous enchanted tree has unexpectedly grown next to the king’s palace and retains him in darkness and without water. The monarch has promised to confer the marquis title and marry his daughter to the person who cuts the tree and opens a well. Meñique was very surprised to know that the princess was the Better Half, as demonstrated by the magic mirror.

Motivated by curiosity and cheated by his brothers Meñique gets lost. He now finds himself inside bewitched woods. Here he meets Tom, the giant but the trees will not let him through. However, following the advices of the mirror and his ingenuity the boy gets into the woods. Once inside, he becomes a close friend of the three magic objects, each one of them belongs to a different world. Hachibaldo, the ax, Picoretto, the pick, and the walnut water fountain, named Lady Stream. The boy shows them his intelligence, courage and fidelity.

However, a sinister living being is also interested in these magic objects. Therefore, Barusa, the witch, follows Meñique´s route. She is the one responsible for the extraordinary events occurred in the palace. She feels resentment toward the king and is now returning from the Land of Darkness. She is materialized in the shadow of her son the Escort, who is deeply in love with his cousin Denise. The witch looks for vengeance. Her plan is to marry the Escort to the Princess by means of the magic objects, to cut the tree, to open the well and later on to steal the fortune from the Royal Treasure Salon.

Around the city, an enormous village is the house of the poor. And a mysterious thief steals in the palace to give them money. She will also steal the heart of Meñique and it will question the prediction of the Mirror. Finally our small hero will triumph in the zeal of cutting the tree, to open the well, to won the giant's friendship, to defeat the witch and to conquer his dreams woman. Everything thanks to the help of his magic friends and because finally he learns that the knowledge can more than the force.
